New To Using Marijuana? Here’s How To Get Started.

Marijuana legalization has picked up the pace all around the world in the last few years. And according to statistics, it’s not slowing down. Just this year, a few U.S. states, including California and Michigan, legalized recreational marijuana. But that’s not all. Even some countries, including South Korea (only for medical use) and Canada, have legalized marijuana as well. This opens up many possibilities for people to start using marijuana!

Depending on where you live, your state or country might have recently legalized marijuana. If you are looking to smoke or use marijuana in any way, then this is good news for you! Just make sure that you know the law of your area, to avoid doing anything illegal.

Many people who live in areas where marijuana was just legalized have no idea how to get started with using it. If that is you, or you are just new to using marijuana and wish to learn more, then this post is for you.

How To Obtain Some

Now you may be thinking “I know how to smoke/use marijuana, but I’m just not sure where to get some.” Well, that depends on where you live! If you live in a state or country where only medical marijuana is legal, then you might have to go through your doctor or health specialist to obtain some. The process of doing this is different in other states/countries. My advice for this situation is to ask your doctor or health specialist how you can go about using marijuana, or you could always Google how to.

If you are a bit luckier and live in an area where marijuana is legal for recreational use, then obtaining some might be easier. In many areas like this, you can simply head over to your local dispensary (more on this below). You can find one by simply searching the web for a dispensary near you.

In some places that have recently legalized marijuana, such as Ontario, you can only buy marijuana online. This requires you to hop on the internet (just like you are right now if you are reading this). So, to find where to buy online, just search online! You can also check any local news about marijuana that might hint at where it’s being sold (legally).

To summarize this, all you need to do is do some research. Hop on Google and figure out how you can legally obtain some marijuana. If it is at a dispensary, get the address and head on down. If it is online, get that URL and head on over there. If it is through your health specialist, then head on over and ask them about it.

Picking Out The Right Stuff

So now you have found out where to buy weed, but do you know what to buy? Don’t just walk in and buy the first thing you see. In case you didn’t know, marijuana comes in hundreds of different forms, with each having its unique effects. These are called strains. Now, I don’t want to go into too much about what strains are and how they differ for the sake of this topic, but if you would like to learn more about that, click the link below:

Your first step (before even walking into the dispensary or opening the website) should be to figure out which kind of marijuana you want to smoke. Do you want to feel relaxed and calm? Do you want to get productive and feel energized? Do you want the munchies? Or, do you want a balance of different effects? These are all questions that you should ask yourself to determine which strain (or strains) you will purchase.

Now, you do not need to go in knowing exactly what you want. Just get a good idea. It’s like going to a restaurant. Sometimes you go and have no clue what you want, but then you see something that looks good and you get it. Same thing with shopping for weed. Walk in with an open mind and see what you walk out with.

Once you have a general idea of what you’d like, head into the dispensary or website and start shopping. For the website, you might not be able to talk to anyone directly, but you should be able to easily navigate through different strains and order your favorite. I suggest that if you are not too sure about a strain, then look up a review on it first. That way you can determine if other users recommend it. Reefer Post has its list of strain reviews, all on very popular strains.

If you are going to a dispensary, however, then you might have a different experience. If you are a social person, then going to a dispensary is perfect for you. Even if you are not very social, that’s okay, all you need to do is ask them a few questions. Head inside and begin shopping.

When you finally get to shop at the dispensary, you can sit there and ask them all kinds of questions (even questions you might have that I didn’t answer in this post). Point at a strain and ask if it’s a good one. Ask them which strains they recommend. If you are going to buy a sativa strain (or indica) then ask them which strains are the best for sativa (or indica) effects.

Sometimes when I go to a dispensary, and I have no general idea of what I want, I simply ask them which strain is the best that they are carrying. That way I know I will get a good strain, without even knowing what I wanted in the first place. Do this if you ever want to get a strain but don’t know what to get, or if you just want to try something new.

Dispensaries and websites might not only sell strains, however. Some even sell edibles, wax, or other marijuana goodies. This is another good thing to ask about if you want to explore marijuana.

If you are buying a strain(s) or even wax, then you should pay attention to the quality of it. Most dispensaries should show you what it looks like before you buy it, and websites should have pictures of them. So, before you buy something, you should know how to determine the quality of it first. Just because they say it’s good, might not mean it is. It’s best to know for yourself so that you never get scammed.

So, if you made it this far, that means you successfully purchased your marijuana goodies and can now take them home to enjoy (or wherever you’ll go). But what will you do with it?

Will you smoke your weed? If so, how will you smoke it? Will you turn it into cannabutter and make some edibles? If so, what kind of edibles? The fact is that there are so many things that you can do with marijuana. Just by exploring Reefer Post, you can find out many new ways that you might have not ever thought about! Ever smoked weed out of rose petals? Or, for you edible people, have you ever eaten pancakes that were infused with marijuana? Those are just examples, there are tons more here. Have a look for yourself.
