There are some strains of marijuana that are commonly known as “good” strains. By good I mean strains that you know you can smoke and get high from. One of those strains is OG Kush. How many times can you say that you’ve smoked this strain and didn’t get high? If you say you can recall some times, then chances are you were actually smoking a different strain.
In our post titled “The Best Marijuana Strains Out There,” OG Kush was on that list. In that post, it gave a short summary of the strain. This post will go into full detail about the strain to let you know if it is right for you.
Background
OG Kush is a hybrid strain, meaning it has indica and sativa traits. It is a parent of many different strains, including Tahoe OG, Ghost OG, and Girl Scout Cookies. It is very popular in the west coast of the United States, but can also be found in most places that marijuana is legal. Most stoners have tried or at least heard about OG Kush. What are your thoughts on this strain?
The first uses of this strain date back to the mid-1990’s. Since then, it has been looked at as a great strain that many have used and loved over the years. Some even say that it is the best strain out there, and that it has been for years. After all, the “O” in OG Kush does stand for original.
Description
When smoking OG Kush, it is known to give off a woody, pine-like smell. The taste of this strain is more of a taste of lemon when smoking. Because of these scents and flavors, many strains that derive from OG Kush also share these traits.
In the picture above are some beautiful OG Kush nugs. They have a light-colored look to them, and if you follow Reefer Post’s guide on “Determining Marijuana Quality,” you can tell that this strain is in fact good quality.
Effects
Now let’s talk about the high you can get from OG Kush. This strain is very potent, so it’s effects can be heavy. It is known to give off a variety of effects, including euphoria, relaxation, and happiness. This strain also has a good balance of indica and sativa effects, so you can use it to get active as well as get sleepy. It can be both calming and uplifting; it almost seems like an all-purpose strain!
For medical marijuana patients, OG Kush does have it’s uses there as well. One of the biggest medical uses that this strain offers is relieving stress. Since it gives off a heavy euphoric feeling, it can easily get rid of one’s stress. This strain has also been known to help treat ADD/ ADHD and even PTSD. You can even use it to cure a headache or migraine!
Overall, Reefer Post gives OG Kush a great review. It is a strain that you can use for just about anything, and at anytime! Check out more on strains by clicking here. Happy smoking!
