Cannabis cultivation occurs worldwide. However, there are some areas of the world that cultivate more, and often times better, cannabis than others. Some very popular places of cultivation are India, Afghanistan, the Netherlands, the United States, and others. These areas not only produce great cannabis strains but are also home to many famous landrace strains.
Let’s focus on a particular strain from the Netherlands. It’s called Silver Haze. It is a very popular strain and has many benefits to using it. What sets this strain apart from other big strains? Well, you’ll just have to continue reading to find that out.

Description
Silver Haze was created by Sensi Seeds in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The cannabis company was looking for a haze strain that could be grown well indoors. The original haze strain, at the time, did not grow so well indoors, and was primarily grown outdoors. So, Sendi Seeds decided to crossbreed Haze with Northern Lights. In doing this, they created Silver Haze, a great haze strain that grows well indoors.
As for looks, this strain actually gets its name from appearance. Of course, it gets “Haze” from its parent Haze strain. But where does “Silver” come in? Well, Silver Haze gets its name from its silver hue, given off from the frosty trichome buds. Not only is this a great strain, but it looks great too.
Effects
Sativa or indica? Actually, both. This strain is 50% sativa and 50% indica, making it a well-balanced hybrid strain. Silver Haze is also quite potent, having THC levels of up to 14%. This potency mixed with balanced effects allows for users to quickly feel a heavy hit of euphoria, followed by boosts of happiness. This strain has also been known to make users feel creative and clear-headed. Here’s some more effects:
- Happy
- Creative
- Energetic
- Euphoric
- Relaxed
The best time of day to use some of this strain is in the morning (wake and bake!) or middle of the day. This is because it can pull you away from being tired and help you get on with the day. Beware, however, as this strain has been known to give off off a serious case of cottonmouth.
Medical Benefits
While Silver Haze is not usually known to be a widely used medical strain, it still holds some benefits. Sure, if you are looking for a medical strain, this may not be the best option overall. For that, click the link below:

But if you want to use Silver Haze medically, you still can. There are a few things that it can help treat, including:
- Stress
- Chronic Aches and Pains
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Nausea
- Lack of Appetite
Stress, pain, anxiety and depression are what most cannabis strains are good at treating, including this strain. However, this strain can help with a bit more. Nausea lookout, cause Silver Haze is coming to kick your butt. Even a lack of appetite is not safe, since this strain will come through and deliver a swift case of the munchies.
Flavors and Scents
The flavors and scents of Silver Haze must be good, since the buds are so silver and shiny, right? Right! This strain has a unique yet interesting smell, and taste. Stoners who are experienced with this strain may be able to identify it with only a whiff. Other experienced stoners may only need to take one puff from a joint of this strain to say “yep, that’s some Silver Haze alright.” That’s how much Silver Haze potentially stands out.
So what does Silver Haze smell and taste like? After hyping it up so much, you must be dying to know. Okay, here it is. The aroma given off from Silver Haze is very similar to a minty pine smell, and is very herbal. The flavor is almost identical, while also tasting peppery and of citrus.
That’s all for this post. What do you think about Silver Haze? Is it a strain that you would purchase, or possibly grow (indoors)? Let us know! Thanks for reading.
