Some dog owners will want to find the best CBD dog treats out there to purchase, instead of making their own (let’s be real, we all aren’t that great in the kitchen). Those people want to find some tasty treats for their dogs that will also give them a good amount of CBD.
If you would like to purchase some CBD dog treats, check out these:
Other dog owners would like to make their own CBD dog treats. These dog owners may be more conscious about what ingredients their dog is consuming. That is the beauty of making your edibles (whether they are for humans or dogs), you know what they are made of! Not only that, but you can personalize edibles by adding or subtracting ingredients to make an edible that best suits you (or your dog). Below, Reefer Post has put together a recipe for CBD-infused dog edibles. Make some for yourself and see how your dog likes it!
Now, you could just mix some CBD oil with your dog’s regular food. However, some dogs do not like this. Some dogs will only eat CBD in a treat (what dog doesn’t like treats?). For those dogs, try out this recipe:
Ingredients
This recipe will result in 50 dog treats, each with about 0.33 mg of CBD (which is plenty for a dog). If this does not seem to work, however, add a small amount more of CBD oil into these dog edibles. Increase or decrease the dosages as seen as needed.
- 1 teaspoon of CBD oil
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup of peanut butter
- 1 1/2 cup of coconut flour
- 1/2 cup of coconut oil
- 1 cup of applesauce
Instructions: Making CBD Edibles for Your Dog
The first step in making these CBD dog edibles is to preheat your oven to 350 F (176 C). While that is preheating, mix all of the ingredients (yes, all of them) in a mixing bowl. Mix it all up. Then, use your hands to form the dough into a ball.
Once you have your dough in one big ball, place it between two sheets of parchment paper. Next, roll it out to about 1/4 inch of thickness. Now it’s time to shape the treats. Using a 2-inch cookie cutter, shape out the treats. You can use any style of cookie cutter that you like to shape these treats. But, of course, the most common shape for dogs is a bone.
Place the cut-out treats on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake them in your oven for 12-15 minutes. Once they have baked, transfer them to a cooling rack to cool off. Once cooled, the treats are complete! Give one to your dog and see if they like it.
The good thing about these treats (besides them being infused with CBD) is that they are gluten-free. Some dogs cannot eat treats or foods with gluten in them. So, these treats are perfectly safe for those dogs.
What do you think about dog edibles? Give it a try. Who knows, maybe CBD edibles can save a dog’s life?
