Classic Marijuana Brownie Recipe

When you think of a marijuana edible, is the first thing that pops in your head a brownie? This is probably because brownies are the most popular type of marijuana edibles. Brownies are also very easy to make. Now, you could go out and buy a box of instant brownies and use cannabutter instead of regular butter, and that would make you some brownie edibles. But who doesn’t prefer homemade brownies over already-made ones? But whichever way you decide to make your brownies, both ways will produce marijuana edibles!

Remember, it is not a marijuana edible if it does not contain any marijuana. So make sure that you replace the regular butter with cannabutter so that you can get the effects of the edible. Using a recipe that requires vegetable oil instead of butter? No problem, just use canna oil instead!

If you are using an already-made brownie mix, then simply follow the instructions on the box and remember to use cannabutter or canna oil. But if you want to make some homemade brownie edibles, then keep on reading.

  • 1/2 cup of cannabutter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. of vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. of salt
  • 1/4 tsp. of baking powder

As it may seem like quite a bit of ingredients, it is well worth it. If this recipe is followed correctly, it can result in some fresh, homemade brownie edibles!

Making these brownies from start to finish will take about an hour, which is not bad!

Step 1: Prepare oven and pan

First, you are going to want to preheat your oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). While preheating, grab an 8-inch square pan and grease it. Then add a layer of flour on top of that.

Step 2: Make the batter

Inside a large saucepan, melt the 1/2 cup of cannabutter. Once it has melted, remove the heat and stir in both eggs, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. After that, mix in 1/3 cup of cocoa powder, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder. Spread this batter onto the pan that was prepared.

Step 3: Bake in the oven

Bake this batter inside your preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Make sure that you do not overcook it (or you might have to start all over). Once it has baked, the brownies are done! Let them cool down, then they are ready to eat!

Step 4: Add frosting (optional)

Want to make frosting for your brownies? It’s pretty easy! Simply combine 3 tablespoons of cannabutter, 3 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 cup of confectioners’ sugar. Stir this up until it is completely smooth. Add to the top of brownies when they are fresh out of the oven and still warm.

Adding this frosting will not only sweeten up your brownies but will also give you an extra high if you use cannabutter. You could also just use regular butter, but only if you do not want that extra boost to your high.

You can now make some amazing marijuana brownie edibles. Did you enjoy this recipe? Check out more posts like this in the Edibles Category.
