Marijuana Tea Recipe

Want to whip up some easy-to-make, but delicious-to-drink marijuana tea? Then this is the post for you! Some edibles may require lots of ingredients and/ or take many steps to make (and they may still be really good), but some edibles, like the one below, only need a few ingredients and simple steps to make and come out tasty.

When you think of marijuana edible, you probably think about a brownie or a cookie or something solid, right? Well, not all edibles have to be like that, some are liquids, such as this recipe for marijuana tea. If you like tea, and like to smoke marijuana, try some marijuana tea. It will give you a good marijuana high while you get to enjoy some delightful tea.

For this recipe, you will only need the ingredients necessary for making a regular cup of tea, along with canna oil, which is needed to give you the marijuana effect. For a tutorial on how to make canna oil, click here.

When it comes to this recipe, the ingredients may differ. The ingredients below are for a normal cup of tea. If you have a certain type of tea that you like more, then try those ingredients instead of these (except for canna oil, that’s needed no matter what type of tea is used). For a regular cup of marijuana tea, the ingredients are:

  • 2 cups of water (I recommend using bottled water instead of tap)
  • 1 tea bag or 1-2 teaspoons of your desired tea flavor
  • 1 teaspoon of canna oil
  • Milk (optional)
  • Honey (optional)
  • Sugar (optional)
  • 1/2 slice of lemon (optional)

Milk, honey, and sugar are all optional because they are only used as a sweetener. So depending on what you like, try some different combinations to find what best suits you. The half slice of lemon is optional because you should only add it if you like lemon in your tea (obviously).

If you already know how to make a cup of tea, then this is the last paragraph you need to read. All you need to do is add 1 teaspoon of canna oil to a cup of freshly made, hot tea. Simply stir it in until it has completely dissolved into the tea. You now have a fresh cup of marijuana tea!

For instructions on how to make a good cup of tea, keep reading.

Step 1: Boil the Water

First, boil 2 cups of water. The better your water tastes, the better your tea will taste. This is why I recommend using bottled water instead of tap. But if you do use tap water, let it sit cold for 10 seconds before using it for tea. Make sure the water is only boiled once, or else your tea may taste flat. Water temperature plays a part in what type of tea you will get. Hotter water (212 F or 100 C)  will give you black tea, while water that isn’t as hot (170-185 F or 76-85 C) will give you white or green tea.

Step 2: Preheat the Cup

By preheating the cup, I mean preparing your cup for hot water. When choosing which cup to use, note that porcelain and ceramic tea cups retain heat well, so those are recommended. It is a good idea to prepare your cup to ensure that the actual cup of hot water that you use will stay hot. Take one cup of your boiling water and pour it into the cup. Let the water sit in the cup until the outside of the cup feels warm. Then dump out the water immediately before proceeding to the next step.

Step 3: Place the Tea in the Cup

If you are using a tea bag, then the measuring part is done for you! Simply place your tea bag in the bottom of the cup. However, if you are using tea powder, then add 1-2 teaspoons (depending on how much tea you want in your tea) to the cup.

Step 4: Add Boiling Water

Pour your last cup of boiling water into the cup, on top of the tea. Let the tea settle for a few minutes. For white or green tea, let it sit for 2-3 minutes. For black tea, let it sit for longer, about 3-5 minutes. To retain heat, you can place something on top of the cup while the tea settles to trap in the heat.

Step 5: Add Canna oil and Sweeteners

After the tea has settled, put 1 teaspoon of canna oil in the tea. Then stir it up until it is completely dissolved. Next, add and stir in the appropriate amounts of sugar, milk, and/ or honey to your tea for some flavor. The last thing to add would be your slice of lemon, if necessary. Do not use milk and lemon in the same cup of tea, however, because that would cause the milk to curdle and go bad.

You now have made your cup of marijuana tea! Next time you make it, try some different tea flavors or different sweeteners. It’s always fun to try new recipes. Maybe you have some ingredients of your own that I did not include. If so and you would like to share it, then drop a comment about it!

Thanks for checking out this recipe. Hopefully, your tea came out just the way you wanted it to! Enjoy!
