Strain Review: AK-47

Looking for a hybrid marijuana strain? What about a Sativa-dominant hybrid strain in particular? If so, check out this strain. It’s named AK-47. And yes, it packs a punch. This strain is crossed with at least four parent strains that each derive from different parts of the world. AK-47’s parents come from Mexico, Colombia, Thailand, and Afghanistan. These parent strains were brought together to create a strain that blends the properties of them all. AK-47 was created by Serious Seeds in 1992. Since then, it has won many awards for its high THC level.

Just because this strain is named after a gun, doesn’t mean it’s really strong and can knock you off your feet. You can experience Sativa effects while still feeling calm and relaxed from this strain. AK-47 is also known to leave users’ feelings uplifted, happy, creative, and euphoric. Be careful, though, as some users have said that too much of this strain can leave you feeling a bit dizzy.

Medical Properties

AK-47 is often not used primarily for medical purposes, however, it still holds some value. AK-47 has been known to be a great stress reliever. It is also great for treating other conditions, such as (but not limited to):

  • depression
  • pain
  • fatigue
  • lack of appetite

Yes, this strain does help with a lack of appetite, meaning that the chances of you getting the munchies after smoking some AK-47 is pretty high (no pun intended).

Flavors and Scents

The scent of AK-47 can range from sour to earthy. The flavor, however, has been known to be very floral. Sometimes, this flavor can even taste woody or earthy. No matter what the flavor or scent, though, the smell of this strain is very pungent and strong in most cases. Good luck smoking this strain if you are attempting to hide the smell.
